Intro 00:39
2.
We lie to suit our needs, it’s so plain to see slouchin’ endlessly, it’s so easy behind some dotted line, so crude and unrefined we’ll milk our soggy minds when we’re thirsty and it all seems too much to bare, we sit and stare at the same old scenes in magazines that pile beneath the bed We’ve heard it all before, repeat just to be sure and isn’t it a bore to be lonely we lie awake in bed and cringe at the things we’ve said but it’s all in your head don’t you worry
3.
they line up here to sing they line up there to dance lord make my name known all around they say give me a chance a pepper packet bookmark keeps you in your place drop it here and disappear, you’re gone so what’s the haste and what’s the use with all these who’s who’s I can’t get through to you spend too much time on wheels when all is said and done it takes much time to see things through but that don’t bring me down with plastic in your dreams and plastic is my home I never thought that this busy town’d make me feel so alone so what’s the use, we can’t refuse our hands are tied with you sleep and dream of plastic sheep
4.
Moldy Man 02:46
moldy man sits in the corner waiting for the dawn to come, sheds blue tears neverending flicking fuzz off with his thumb/ and if you got the guts to ask him “why you hidin in that junk” you’re actin blind it’s plain to see him peachy patchy hide the sun/ moldy man he has no brothers moisture dripping off his toes with hand me downs that clog and clutter a dark room where he can grow/ please don’t panic if you catch eavesdroppin on your bread and butter bleedin blue blood serenade that’s bouncing off the shutters | “can’t you seem me from the door I’m just mindin my own curled up on the floor my the sunlight hurts my eyes guess I’ll stay where it’s moldy inside”

6.
true love is hard to find in this day and age we’re so quick to turn the page how many hearts wither and die? a sea of faces can’t decide, no cause true love is hard to find and true love can’t be defined
7.
Splattered 02:52
no I can’t stand the silence is my canvas so come and join us melody and make it last yeah make it last and please don’t peel my canvas back cause you’ll turn my poor heart black no I can’t stand the silence is my canvas and if you have a question mark the ashes have been scattered if you make that sweet sound heard the canvas has been splattered
8.
I can see your salted teeth come on and carry your carrion deeds maybe might catch you bluff drift when you’ve had enough hard to fake your funeral cake finishin your scheming before you wake up as your growin up free to sleep but don’t look past me waving inside your minds ocean just passin thru go get some rest bullion breakfast I hear your name comin through lemon and lyin don’t mind the time I hear your voice loud and true lines to see your wilted wreath carefully sowin your salvation seeds winter falls from above hold on your fleeting love I can trace your scented lace tell me who won your idle race shot marks the spot you got it’s all fine but don’t mind me just swimming inside of your vision just passin thru baby you’re blessed forget all the rest I hear your name comin through lemon and lyin look past the time I hear your voice loud and true
9.
the parish welcomed me with open arms right at the crossroads of the world/I looked into the tapestry/I crossed my eyes with open arms amongst the ministry, so I could hide from that sad tragic world outside/ crosses come from ashes turn to earth and then once more are born again/ let’s attend/ mass we’re takin lashes rendering ourselves inert but pious men/ let’s pretend/ order of the sun who’s rays we couldn’t dare to sweep, a call to arms a wall to keep us from the heat/as the fog blankets like sleep, I woke up I’m creepin jean back on the street/ I still don’t know a thing

Wash 02:29
even god can’t change the past it doesn’t matter how much you’ve asked he wants you to keep movin on he wants you to keep stayin strong it don’t matter if you’ve been wakin up real sad this could be the best life you’ve ever had you gotta just keep movin on forget it and keep movin on problems that you have just come and go you’ll never feel high if you’ve never felt low let it wash over so you can begin and do it again and again so much confusion and so little time you can’t even trust all the answers you find you gotta just keep movin on stick with it and you can’t go wrong

about

Sometimes the mess is the message. PAINT is the project of Allah-Las guitarist / singer Pedrum Siadatian, and the title of his first solo album. Started by four-tracking his strange, slow-growing ideas just after Allah-Las third record Calico Review, PAINT has a happily paradoxical finished-but-not-finished, wet-to-the-touch feel, like an even more shambolic Kevin Ayers or Syd Barrett, but the songs that never came out. LP includes an oversized newsprint poster and MP3 download.
